What is that Shake in the Picture?

Hi all,

So, I’ve had some questions about the smoothie I am drinking in my profile picture. Since there are a ton of questions about it, I have decided to give you all of that information here. Try it out, share it with a friend, and tell your lifestyle-friendly doctor!

Here is the recipe:

1 scoop Vegan Proteins + (you don’t have to use this brand or kind of protein…go with the protein powder you like)

1 medium frozen banana (yes, they do have carbs…about 15 or so)

1 cup of unsweetened almond milk (use whatever milk you would like…just not skim or low-fat!)

Ice as needed (sometimes it might not be thick enough)

Blend on “Ice Crush” settings in blender

ENJOY!

Now, for the breakdown:

The brand of protein powder I use is Non-GMO, has 20g protein and 7g carbs per scoop, and has no sugars or artificial ingredients added. It is double chocolate flavored and does have Stevia in it. This brand includes the following amino acids:

Alanine 883 mg

Arginine 1824 mg

Aspartic Acid 2422 mg

Cysteine 218 mg

Glutamic Acid 3655 mg

Glycine 866 mg

Histidine 482 mg

Isoleucine 765 mg

Leucine 1672 mg

Lysine 1543 mg

Methionine 271 mg

Phenylalaline 1062 mg

Proline 1307 mg

Serine 1141 mg

Threonine 750 mg

Tryptophan 173 mg

Tyrosine 784 mg

Valine 901 mg

As the name implies, this product is vegan. Like I said earlier, you can choose the protein powder and flavor you wish. Be sure you get one that works for your body and food sensitivities, though! If you are new to it, you could go to your local whole foods type store and ask a professional in that department to help you. I’m sure they would be glad to…but make sure it is okay with your system by talking to your doctor about what might be right for you!
